We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Consultant who combines strong AP/P2P knowledge, solution design expertise and delivery leadership. This senior, hands-on role requires someone who can challenge existing processes, advise customers on better ways of working and translate business requirements into effective SoftCo solutions.

The successful candidate will embrace AI-enabled ways of working to improve consulting effectiveness, solution quality and delivery efficiency.

Within six months, they are expected to operate independently as a Solution and Delivery Lead, while supporting the development of other consultants.

AP/P2P Consulting & Solution Design

•  Lead discovery workshops, assess customer processes and recommend improvements based on AP/P2P best practice.

• Challenge inefficient requirements and identify opportunities for automation, stronger controls and straight-through processing.

•  Own functional solution design, translating business needs into scalable, supportable SoftCo configurations.

•  Identify ERP and integration dependencies, collaborating with technical specialists to ensure an effective end-to-end solution.

Implementation & Delivery Leadership

•  Lead implementations from discovery and design through configuration, testing, training, go-live and hypercare.

•  Manage delivery plans, milestones, risks, scope, decisions and stakeholder communication.

•  Remain hands-on with configuration, solution validation, troubleshooting and functional decision-making.

•  Maintain high standards of documentation, testing, customer readiness and transition to Support.

AI & Continuous Improvement

•  Actively use AI and approved knowledge tools to improve discovery, analysis, solution design, documentation and problem-solving.

• Identify opportunities to apply automation within customer AP/P2P processes.

• Validate AI-generated outputs, maintaining accuracy, security and customer confidentiality.

• Contribute to reusable solutions, knowledge sharing and improved delivery practices.

Customer & Team Leadership

• Build trusted relationships with senior finance, accounts payable, procurement and technical stakeholders, confidently influencing decisions whilst delivering projects.

•  Manage challenging requirements, competing priorities and escalations with sound consulting and commercial judgement.

• Mentor Business Consultants, review solution designs and provide functional guidance.

• Promote ownership, collaboration, independent thinking and high delivery standards.

Essential

•  Significant experience in AP/P2P automation, finance transformation or enterprise software implementation, typically five or more years.

•  Strong practical knowledge of AP/P2P processes, financial controls, automation opportunities and ERP/integration dependencies.

• Proven experience independently leading complex software implementations, including ownership of solution design and delivery outcomes.

•  Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge requirements and influence senior customer decision-makers.

•  Hands-on experience translating business requirements into software configuration, testing and validated solutions.

•  Excellent analytical, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with sound commercial judgement.

•  Confidence using AI tools to improve solution delivery, combined with the judgement to validate outputs and use them responsibly.

•  Willingness to travel to customer sites across Ireland, the UK and internationally as required.

Desirable

•  Experience working with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms.

• Experience improving delivery methodologies, developing reusable assets or supporting consulting team development.

•  Experience mentoring colleagues, reviewing delivery quality or providing functional leadership.
